Just curious but the point of that putting aid is to help what?

It was a golf ball shaped head so you have to hit it out of the centre or the ball goes sideways. He got used to that and felt that the sphere shape helped him line up better so it developed from there.

Some more pics of the MP-650 woods. Very simple, understated. Leans more to the MP Craft driver from Japan than the previous MP-630.

Really pleased with the new woods and going down very well on tour.

Anyway, it's Friday night in Spain too so it would be rude not to...

Extra hot Phal please!

Re: 2011 Tour Blog

Flying back to London today from Gibraltar. Much better weather today - not a cloud in the sky and the wind has dropped. Early scores suggesting it's a little easier today (but still a very tough course!).

A couple of weeks in the office for me now before going to Japan HQ for a week of meetings.

The woods are just breathtaking, any ideas on a potential release date?

Re: 2011 Tour Blog

had a set in my hand from a rep yesterday - they are awesome in real life guys - the driver and the three wood are slightly open at address, the rescue looked pretty neutral. Unfortunately wasn't allowed to try them out, just look at them.

Re: 2011 Tour Blog

Particularly keen to try the driver as I haven't found any driver that excites me in 4 years and I tried all the in vogue models/white ones/interchangeable gimmicks etc etc but the Mizuno looks very nice.

Re: 2011 Tour Blog

Thought the 630 had a nice 'traditional' look to it, but this one, the 650, really takes the eye.

Echo DeeMac's comments about the hybrids, much cleaner lines and back to a style similar to the good old CLKs of 2-3 years back.

Nice :)

Re: 2011 Tour Blog

I can see the Driver, 3 wood and hybrids fitting nicely in my bag.(even if I have to reshaft them all) I hope they use the Tour staff headcovers that match the staff bag.

Then all I need for a full Mizuno bag would be the MP putter, if I can get my hands on one. I may have to plan a Euro trip just to get one.

It kinda favors the titleist 585H, arguably known as titleist's best hybrid. Mizuno could be on to something here!

Re: 2011 Tour Blog

I just noticed - there's no acronym on the clubs.

No U.D.S. or F.T. or Hot Metal or Cortech or any other tech names written on the clubs. Just nice clean lines. Lovely.
