The original thread was getting quite long so starting a new thread with details of the day, travel plans to see if anyone wants to lift share to Frilford and anything else I can't think of right now....

I am coming from Fleet so am happy to pick up on the way if anyone needs a lift.

Plan for the day is as follows:

Arrival from 8.30am with coffee on arrival.

In the morning, there is 9 holes on the Blue course with first tee time at 9.30am

There is brunch after the mornings golf.

In the afternoon, there is 18 holes on the Red course with the first tee from 13.30pm with longest drive on the 8th and nearest the pin on the 11th.

Very short prize giving after everyone has finished.

Only 4 weeks to go. :)

Wotsit - I'm coming from Bournemouth so will come past Fleet. Any chance of grabbing a lift from that point?

Cheers wotsit.

Can you jusrt confirm cost (I think it was £45-£50) and payment arrangements. Are we just paying on the day?

Thought I had forgotten some things.....

Price is £45 and payable on the day.

Stableford is the clubs preferred format for the day. I am happy with that as it gives me a chance! :)

Wizzle - fine for a lift from Fleet. I will pm you.

Only live 15 miles from the course so no point asking for a lift. I have a couple of Mizuno goodies that I'll throw into the prize pool too

26 Days to go!!!

Will we need a Handicap certificate on the day ?

Are we gonna have a "Sweep" - say Front 9, Back 9 & Overall?

Reckon Robbo's got his ball on the fairway for longest drive already!!lol! (like Bearwood Lakes last year)

Fingers crossed for the Sun to shine!! ;-)

On the general info page I have it just says that players should have an official handicap of at least 28 for men and 36 for ladies and be capable of playing to that standard but no mention of certificates being shown on the day.

Is the 'sweep' money in a pot and then whomever wins takes it?

I am keeping my fingers crossed for good weather.

Re: Southern Forum Day @ Frilford 24th March - Plans for the

With regards to a "Sweep" If we were to play Front 9,Back 9 & Overall - the "Sweep" would be split into three portions. The best score on front would take the front 9 portion! The best score on Back would take that portion & best overall would take that portion!!! Three chances of winning!! We all have a chance!!

Especially if we have to play of a Handicap of atleast 28!! Lol!

Robbo - Thanks for the heads up about using a Driver! Tad tight is it?

What made you change your driver you were hitting it pretty sweetly? ;-)

Hey Bubba,

Think you could be in with a good chance of winning Longest Drive!! Rotherham's a fair way from Oxford!lol!!

How about a "Texas Scramble" for morning round ? Nice friendly format to get to know other guys /no pressure warm up before battle commences on the "Red" course! Only an idea - not trying to take anything away from Wotsit - he's doing us proud!!
