Dear All,

Whilst I know that MPX is organising the first and inaugural Mizuno Forum Members Golf Day - and we all offer our thanks to MPX and Mizuno for doing this!!! - there seems to be a growing number of forum members who live further north, who would be interested in attending an event that is a bit closer to home and easier to get to.

Without treading on the "Official" golf day's toes - could anyone interested in a more Northerly venue please post below.

If you could post your interest, along with your home location, we can try and identify a central location that suits the majoroty of Northerners, and see if we can organise a get together of some kind.

The event could be as few as a fourball or as large as we want, it would just be good to have a day where we can put faces to the names, and drool over each other's Mizuno kit in person, and see who are all playing off of kid-on handicaps ;-).

I'd definitely be interested in this though looking at previous threads it looks like this & an official one has been dicussed for a while. Always keen on an away day somewhere or even my home course dependant on number which is always a joy to play.

I'd be up for playing anywhere to be honest (the joys of a petrol card)

I'm based on the Wirral (near Liverpool) but would consider a jaunt up to Scotland or "North" North for a game, preferably on a weekend though.

Id be up for an event this side of the border, all dependant on when. Im from Kilmarnock, ayrshire.

Il start saving incase we get support from MIZUNO and want some new gear.

Deemac, u got anything spare incase Mizuno cant support us?

I'm also up for this. There appears to be a Scotland theme developing from interest already shown so anywhere in the central belt would be great.

I'm keeping a spreadsheet with names and locations. After a week or so, I'll get everyone who has expressed an interest and figure out the most central location for the majority, select a course, select a date, and then post the details and get REAL expressions of interest. Following that, I'll book the course and date and get deposits from everyone.

Quite a complex operation really...

Well there is certainly a pattern emerging. So far we have 9 from central Scotland, 3 from Lanc's and 1 from the NE.

I'll start the suggestions for a course with No 55 on the Golf Monthly top 100 list, namely Silloth on Solway.

Driving times according to Google maps are:

M8/M9 jct 2:35
Kingston Br 2:20
M6/M62 jct 2:30
A1/A69 jct 1:47

Green fees vary from £28 to £56 depending on day of the week and time of year.

Any other suggestions for locations etc?

Good suggestion!

I was thinking of perhaps the Roxburghe? £200 per 4-ball inc soup & sandwiches (May - October).

There are so many good courses to choose from...

Let's see if we can drum up a bit more interest and then decide. But keep the suggestions coming...

Not played at The Roxburghe yet Deemac. I've played a couple of GM Forum outings at Goswick in Northumberland, its's a good track and welcomes visiting partys with open arms.

I thought of Goswick but it will be 3:50 drive for our southern chums. The Roxburghe would be 3:20.

It would need to be somewhere in the Carlisle area to be fair to all or it would have to be split into separate Scottish and English events.
