The problem with my wedge play has nothing to do with which wedge I use. I'm pretty sure it's totally my problem.
I do feel like the look of the wedge matters to me. I don't know that I could even explain it. I just look at some in the address position and feel confidant, but some just don't look right to me.
One thing I've felt with my Mizuno wedges is, remembering I usually need to lengthen my clubs to match my iron set lengths, is that the Mizuno wedges are heavier. I have some Vokey wedges that were lighter and when lengthened them they still felt more controllable for me. I have an old set of Ping G20 irons all the way through the lob wedge. They have a huge sole on them and as a feature that seems to work on the softer, sandy Miami turf, that seems to work for me too. So, I tend to look for wedges with deeper soles.
All that said, just looking at the thin sole on the wedge above, I know if couldn't be right for me.
