Ive been playing the driver with a 2/5 setting nuetral and have a theory that the nuetral 1/6 setting with less spin will stabalise the flight and produce extra distance, all be it minimal.

It my be a silly analogy but its not unlike Ronaldo's freekicks, the ones that appear not to spin are the best.

Has anyone else found this and is there any technical merit in this theory

The 1-6 setting should produce a lower spin ball flight than the 2-5 by moving the CG slightly more forward in the club (and thus lowering the sweet spot). If you are a high spin player then this could definitely lead to longer carry! So in short, yes, there is technical merit behind your observations!
