Having just returned to the forum after a sabbatical.... and I lost my password and resetting is a right pain..

I noticed a few of the  "elder / originals" are no where to be seen...

So who have we lost and why...

I liked reading about sjaclark and his plans to move to the states....

deemac seems to not post very often...

Villiers appears to have gone...

big pete seems pretty silent....

They can probably tell it themselves but I think Deemac, Villiers and Pete have all pretty much found other non golf stuff to do. All check in occasionally from their stats. I’d say overall the forum in this format has dropped off considerably from its peak of posting but I think that’s mainly due to other forms of media taking over. Plus the Forum core have gotten to know each other well over the years so now communicate more like buddies than via the Forum. Apart from Bubba obviously :)

All of that said, I think most who retain golf as their main interest still keep an eye on here for techie stuff.

Hey guys...

I happened to be surfing the net and decided to drop in for a rare visit.

I've all but given up golf now having played only 3 rounds this year including the forum day.  Wasn't a conscious decision to chuck it, just drifted out of it.  To be honest, I have no strong desire at this particular moment to start playing again, but as DCB says, it's inevitable that I'll start playing again some-day.... it just aint this day.

I still have a desire to attend the forum day next year, but can't promise anything.  I still have all my kit, which is a good sign - when I've chucked something for good, I usually sell all my gear, but not so with my clubs.

See you all again sometime, just don't know when...

Hope you are all well and enjoying life and golf.

I have been away this week so a bit late to this thread - It is always a shame to see "regulars" drop from the forum - I always enjoyed the posts by those mentioned & can't really get my head around how someone with Deemac's talent (4 handicap & as pure a ball-striker as I have ever seen?) could just stop playing (?) - My life revolves around golf (much to my wife's amusement!) but I understand there is more to life than golf (just not in my world!) - I hope Dee & the others find their way back to us / golf ...

Was out watching some of the WRC Cars pass through near to me tonight and I think I've found out why Deemac is no longer a frequent visitor, I think he's got a new job.......

It's funny, I had a look on here today with the intention of explaining where I'd been and then saw this post

Pretty similar to DM, I've just kind of drifted away from golf. I've maybe played 4 rounds this year and stopped my membership. I got the chipping yips and that just made me frustrated with the whole game, just wasn't enjoying it as much as other things in my life.

As some of you will know I've started singing in a band (gig tomorrow in Liverpool) which has taken a while to get off the ground but finally out and gigging. 

I've also got back into windsurfing the last couple of years. This is very weather dependent but a bit more exciting than trudging up and down fairways (in my opinion). 

Also the social life has become busier and have now found myself what can only be described as an other half. She doesn't really do sports.

I've not given up completely. I did sell a fair bit of gear (down to my last 4 sets). I'll pop my head in here now and again, but am in touch with quite a few of you on Facebook now.

Whilst not in the same posting league as Deemac, BigPete and others I have just looked back into the Forum after well over a year away.  I am still golfing when I can, but that is not as much as 2 or 3 years ago.  Still buy Mizuno gear. Picked up a hybrid and a 5 wood recently off the Bay are they are in the bag.  Hope to look in and post more often in 2018.
