I've got 2 options for a season opener for next spring (no prizes or anything, just enjoying some golf!), I think I know what everyone will pick but thought I would offer the choice. Both are provisionally booked, so we need to make a decision in the near future.

The Buckinghamshire.
  • LPGA tour venue with very good reviews. £145 for Breakfast, 18 hols and 3 course meal.
  • Saturday 24th March, 12pm tee times
Frilford Heath
  • A lot of us have played there, good courses with inetresting challenges. PRevious southern event organised there by Wotsit.
  • Breakfast roll, 9 holes on Red course in the morning, 1 course lunch and 18 holes on the green course (we can switch the order if people prefer, but not the holes on each course).
  • £69 for the day
  • Green course is the shortest (par 69, 6k yards) but as we will have already played 9 holes that is not necessarily a bad thing.
  • Sunday 8th April
Can you let me know your preference, and if you would be happy with the other option if your first choice doesn't make it.
I will plan the full southern championship for September as this year, so keep an eye out for that separately.

Cheers
Chris

you have avoided the busy weekends for me.

my birthday is around the frilford heath date so will probably be in sussex around that time which makes my life easier for the travelling.

Frilford would be my preferred choice also - I couldn't justify the cost of the other venue (no matter how good)

Deposit won't be needed for a while, but don't let that stop you from signing up. (Given how many Zombie has got for the Niorthern event if I can't get to 16 I'll start to take it personally)

Frilford looks like a brilliant deal - good work chrism_s!

I looked into my logistics and I'm not going to make this but September is a distinct possibility depending on my marital status next year.

Just back from frilford heath where my 36 points (b9 19) was enough to get me in the grand final of the titleist match play in Portugal so made up the perfect end to a fantastic season my new 900’s are definitely working

Ha ha ha. As the current Northern champ he has the same honor at Ramside!

I started to choose the champ after poor Iceman was off first and topped his drive in the ditch of Slaley.

Last time we played at Frilford Fish was first off, missed the ball completely and then had another go without stopping and hit it down the middle!

The is a video of it flying around somewhere, it's amazing!

What do people prefer. 9 then 18 or 18 then 9

I think 18 first is good as you are less tired by then end of the day?

Not sure if I can attend yet but, I've never played in any comps that have had the 9 holes last.

Usually the 9 holes is the "warm up" with the main event being the 18 afterwards.

I'm with hursty on this one - 9 holes to warm up & 18 as the main event ... Paul

Not sure i can attend either but i'd prefer to just get out of the car and walk onto 1st tee and hit it.That's how i roll but for the purpose of keeping everyone happy i would favour the 9 first:)
