Special T4 sole grind for a non Miz Staffer who visited the truck today. 2 degrees of bounce with some extra heel relief. Similar to Marcel Siems sole grind.

Ricky has made up 16 sets of irons and over 50 new T4's this week. Our players are itching to get their paws on all the new goodies!

Saw you all last night, on the steps of the truck on TV. Darren Clarke was stood on the range and the camera stayed on him a while with you guys in the background, casually perusing the scene....

They are lovely!!

But you'd have to claw my 69's out of my cold dead fingers! :)

Opens are always hard work - long hours and a long week. This week we've had the additional work of launching 3 new MP models so that's obviously added significantly to the workload.

On top of that, there are loads of guys here from the industry so lots of meetings etc to add to the mix.

This has been the 10th tournament on the bounce for us but we do have a bit of break from next week - we can't get the workshop out of Lytham until Monday so can't attend the Austrian Open, and that's followed by the WGC event and the USPGA Championship (which our US colleagues will cover).

So, 2 more days to go, good evening!

I am a staff player here in America and frankly love the satin finish on the 69's. I have a set as well and would love to know how this finish was done..can I do this in my repair shop..what wheels did you use etc if you are able to reply.
Thanks

Re: The Open Golf Championship - Official Workshop Blog

Hey guys,

First time on this forum as I just pre ordered my first Mizuno set (MP 64 4-PW) after seeing them on this blog and getting fit for MP 63 at my shop!

As the H4 is a full set, is there a Fli Hi replacement coming or do I better put the H4 3 iron in the bag?

Cheers

This set was produced in our main factory in Japan. They use a very mild abbrasive wheel to "scratch" the polished chrome to produce the satin finish.

It's not easy to do if you don't have the right equipment so I wouldn't advise doing it yourself.

Welcome Billy!

The MP-H4 will effectively be a Fli-Hi replacement - with similar loft options. I beleive, however, the H4 may come as a full set for certain markets.

The MP-64 long irons are slightly more forgiving than the those of the MP-63 set but the H4 will make a very nice addition to any set for those players that prefer more forgiveness at that end of the bag!

So, Moving Day at The Open!

The wind is predicted to increase as the day goes on and be wild tomorrow!

Luke and Charles both hoping their MP-59s will hunt down a few of the tricky pin positions today.

Re: The Open Golf Championship - Official Workshop Blog

Thanks!

As I'm from Belgium, I wonder if Colsaerts put the H4 he tested into play...
I will probably throw in some T4 wedges too... What's the PW loft of the MP 64's?
