Women's Open

This morning, watching the Women's Open from St Andrews, the commentary on U.S. television was so bad, I decided I needed to find some other country's broadcast. I have an IPTV system, so I found Sky Sports and I have to admit, I'm enjoying their commentary MUCH more.

One thing I noticed that sort of surprises me... It's 63 degrees there right now, 1:45 PM St Andrews time, but the players and fans are bundled up like it's freezing. The wind has been mentioned a few times, but is it colder than the temperature, or is there mist blowing with it?

Today in Miami, it's supposed to be 86 degrees with 93% humidity. I think I could enjoy some 63 degree weather for a little while.

Hi Dennis ... 63* on the east coast of Scotland with a 40mph wind, will freeze the balls off a brass monkey!
At least it wasn't raining all day & the players were scoring a lot better than I imagined they would?
You're right about the Sky Sports commentary v the US TV one too - Laura Davies in particular is very knowledgeable & a hoot!

A well deserved victory for Lydia Ko, though I bet Lilia Vu was really unhappy with her chip on 18.

I bet Nelly was also miffed… threw it away but delighted for Lydia… Olympics and Open - what a few weeks.

Conditions were such, it would be really easy for any of the players to blame their play on something other than themselves, but Nelly has a mindset I can only compare to Tiger in his prime. She simply believes she should win everything and I agree, she's probably really upset with herself when she doesn't win.
