I've just purchased a lovely set of TP9 irons with the serial number of CDD2ZG. Can anyone enlighten me on what year they were made?
Thanks

They started manufacturing in 1986.
i have a pristine set of tp18s which I think are not so sort after and released in 1991. I have had them since new.

Yes, I think the TP9s were manufactured until 1997 but I wondered if the serial numbers provided any clue as to which year they were put together into a set

Unlike later numbers that were engraved on the ferrules & new clubs which have them etched on the hosel, these old numbers were not serial numbers as such & would not identify when & where the clubs were built

Thanks Paul
The number I've mentioned is on the ferrules so would that help to date them?
