The legend is the 2,3,4,5 Mp29 and the 6,7,8,9,P MP14....
He did not want offset...
Strangely the 29s had more offset on the shorter irons but very little on the long irons, they had a flatter sole and sharper leading and trailing edges which Tiger prefered...
The 14s had more offset on the longer irons which he did not like...
Quite odd but explainable... the 14s have a very narrow sole and soft cambered edges. That was better for the shorter irons.
Nowadays the pros get the grind perfectly done to their specifications but in those days before he was a pro he built his own combo set...
