Just bought a set 1 month ago. Obviously hav not played the new irons that much given the winter conditions. however several of the irons are developing rist spots on the face of the blades.
Is this usual? Is it a temporary thing? OR should I panic and return them ASAP
Any similar experiences out there?

I have a 6 month old set of jpx919 hot metals. They are showing pitting of the faces of the 7, 8, 9 and wedge. Although I haven't formally contacted Mizuno, the dealer from whom I bought the clubs, has told me on the phone that Mizuno will not take action. Apparently, care kits are now issued with new sets of Mizuno irons. Anyone thinking of buying Mizuno, should perhaps think again!!

Hello - Sorry to hear about your rust issues - I have owned in the region of 50 sets of irons, mostly blades or players cavity irons (most of these have been Mizuno since the early TP days) - The majority of these have, at some stage, shown minor signs of rust spots on the face - I was told by a pal who is a golf club fitting expert, that this is normal due to the way the faces of clubs are usually finished (sand blasting etc) - He told me not to worry about it & the main thing is to try & prevent the conditions that cause the rust (storage in your shed or garage / boot of the car etc) - Worst offender (he says) is iron covers! - After a round of golf when your clubs get wet, leaving them with the iron covers in place is a no-no - Clean & dry clubs after use & store indoors (if possible) - If you do use iron covers, leave them off after drying off the clubs until you head off for your next round - If you do have rust spots they can be removed easily with metal polish - You can actually rub a thin oil on the face to try to keep the spots away? - Rem Oil (made by the gun specialist Remington) is one I have heard recommended?
Hope that helps?
Paul

if you play a little more often with them the wear spot on the face will appear you won't worry about rust spots then
