Hi, formerly Carisman, played the first forum event (Deemac’s group). Had to register as lost my member details.
Currently hitting MP H5 irons, I believe this model did not really take off at the time, they were on the pricey side then? The hollow technology is something widely used by different manufactures. MP H5 , still a great iron. I’ll be comparing against new models in 2021.
ST190 driver. I purchased this blind and it’s been bit of a struggle this year, possibly the stiff stock shaft ??
Anyway, hope you are all well!
Cheers

Hello & welcome back to the fold - You mentioned problems getting your ST190 to work? - Is it the G version? - If yes, the multiple options / settings can take a bit of work to find the optimum setup - I always remember Rick Shileds testing one the Mizuno drivers & not hitting it too well - Mizuno contacted him & suggested one of their fitters set the driver up for him - After doing this he hit the driver way better than the way the thought he should have it set up?

Prior to the MP H5, I had MP58 followed by MP54. I’m open to trying the new models to see how they compare.

Hi, and thanks for the reply. It’s not the G, I have the loft set at the highest, and if often goes low ish for the driver. Perhaps the shaft ? 250 yards is a good drive without relying on hard fairways.

In that case you were correct in your suggestion that the shaft isn't performing - It would be tough to find a Mizuno dealer with a decent selection of shafts to try, so you might have to bite the bullet with a shaft you have used previously that you know will perform for you? - Buy one second hand & get a Mizuno adapter fitted - As a 6 handicap there must be a shaft that will work for you?
Good luck ... Paul
