For a couple of days I feared my laptop was about to throw in the towel but all is fine again! Ridiculous that the laptop itself works and the charger but they won't work together and can cause the laptop to crash (and naturally not supply power).

But now as I'm back, keep the photos coming! :) Certainly some courses I would like to play.

Hole 4 at my local club. Par 3, 156 m (170 yards) to 165 m (180 yards). Normally plays longer into the prevailing wind. It can be a card wrecker. A mate of mine once had 15 here

Apologies for the poor picture quality due to resizing :(

A front right pin position there should be grounds for firing the greenskeeper.

The green is also a burial site for large mammals. There isnt a straight put to be had anywhere on the green

So you're going there as a missionary to spread the good word about Mizuno irons. By the looks of that tee there's a lot of Ping players there already that need to hear the good word ;)

That's the worst tee box I've ever seen.

It's a new tee box - the old tee to that green was up on the hill to the left approaching the green from completely the opposite direction

Plus it's only about 120 - so big divots all round

Finally got round to taking this today. Our 12th hole ,Par 3 of 227 yards.Si 5.The flag is over the bunker on the right today, with a left to right 20mph wind.As you can see fully tree lined left and right with trees at the back too.it's a b****** to hit the green and when you do it slopes  from front to back and left to right!

While I haven't been bitten by the golf bug yet this winter, I probably shouldn't have come across this video filmed at our club last year. May the longing begin...

Neither of the courses I play are anything to write home about in the looks department, but as I eluded to what seems like a lifetime ago, my brother plays on two of the best links courses in the world (Ballyliffin, Co Donegal ROI) - I have this pic as my screensaver, enjoy!

Yes, too bad you just don't get to see it from that perspective when playing. :) It's a 40-minute drive to the club for me but it's definitely worth it. :)

I had a walk around Silloth this morning. The "Signature Hole" is the 13th. A short par 5 of 511yds from the blue tee.

LOS ... Great looking hole & course! - A links course I presume? - Gorse looks amazing, but not somewhere you want to go poking around for a ball?

During the lockdowns we have had a lot of the gorse has been cleared out so parts of the course look very different. We have also had a completely new irrigation system installed. By modern standards it's a relatively short course at about 6400 yds from the whites. It's an old style Links course with several holes having blind approaches to the greens and it has some nice pot hole bunkers.

It's main protection is the variable wind conditions. When I took the pictures yesterday moring it was 15-20 mph fluctuating from N to E this morning it is dull and overcast with the wind at 8 mph from the SW.
