2021 could be a crucial season for Luke. His mediacal exemption expired in February 2020 and he used his " career earnings" exemption for the rest of the year which is a one time exemption.
The PGA did announce in May that "Due to circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic that resulted in 13 events from the 2019-20 PGA Tour season to be canceled or postponed, the PGA Tour has extended eligibility for exempt 2019-20 PGA Tour members for the 2020-21 season, unless the member’s priority ranking at the conclusion of the 2019-20 season would rank higher in the updated eligibility categories. ". From this I gather Lukes exemption will last this year as he is playing in "The American Express" this weekend.
With most of the big names playing at the WGC event this week Luke is playing at the "Corales Puntacana Resort &Club Championship" and should stand a better chance of making the cut and acquiring some FedEx cup points. He is down to 558 in his OWGR ranking.
There just isn't that spark that he once had. Too many "silly holes" that he just can't recover from and at Tour level that is just a nightmare. Still hoping he can do something to turn things around as his swing still looks wonderful.
