Hi all . Just purchased JPX 921 Hot Metals. Because I am accountant I ended up taking a set of Sticks that someone bailed on. He is giving me a Set of XP S300 shafts along with it in case I don’t like the DGS300. Is there anything surprising about taking the JPX head off. I have built Maltby STi2 before.
.355 Taper Tip Shaft ?

Hello ... I'm not sure what you expect might be "surprising" if you decide to change shafts? - Mizuno heads are .355 so your taper tip shafts should fit straight in? - You might find some tip weights from the original build to get the swing weight right, but if you've done your own builds before this should be a doddle?
Good luck
Paul

The XP shafts fit no problem , only difference is shaft weight, XP are 59 grms DGS300`s are 127 grms , so you might have to add some weight to get them to their swingweight of DO to D2, ?

The DGs300 are they the old model with the labels round the shaft or the new model that goes from DG95 up to DH120 with the label going down the shaft like PX labels

Soryy, the XP`s are 95 grams. not 59, so depending on what you like your swingweight at, most Mizuno models are D0 - D2, .
As the shafts are lighter you might not need add a lot of weight to get to your swingweight

I believe these are 117 according to him these are Dynalite Gold XP not the XPS. When I was fitted we likes the KBS 120s but they are not an option from Mizuno. That’s really the only reason he suggested the S300[130] . Just worried about the low ball flight from DG.

I used to have JPX 850 forged with xp 115 s and now have another set but with standard s300
They were both Mizuno made, so I guess sw matched. The s300 is certainly more penetrating than the higher flight of the xp. I prefer the heavier weight of the s300 as I can feel it better in the swing

Yea I am a big person and the S300 shafts still feel like a twig to me. I am prolly going to stick with them . We shall see out on the course in April . I have an X-20 7 iron with a S300 still hit em pretty high
