I’ve got a 650 17d …bought it used years ago. Didn’t like the stock Orochi (sp) shaft. I had an old mp630 3w lying around, so I pulled the shaft out of the 3w and dropped it on the hybrid. Became such a great club for me. It’s Super long and consistent. Can work it in and out high/low. Can bump &run it. Money!

Wound up buying two clubs…both of which can be returned, so why not.

Callaway Paradym TD and Titleiat TSR3.
Hit them side by side today…honestly until I play them on the course it’s hard to tell which I will like better.

I hit a TSR4 driver recently and was quite impressed with the feel. The computer in the booth didn't indicate I had hit those 5 shots any farther than I do with any of a number of other drivers I have, but the feedback was superior.

I’ve a sneaky suspicion out of the center of the face none of these are going to be (worthwhile) longer than my mp650. Mis-hits…maybe yes but from the center, I’m not yet convinced.
I will say, the ball leaving the Paradym is quicker than anything I’m used to. The ball speed leaving is nuts!

I have a theory which has never been proven or shot down otherwise. At 75 years old, with a driver swing speed around 85 mph, using a senior flex shaft, no club with the most modern technology is going to provide me with a significant amount of additional distance. Since I started with my MP-600 driver, my first Mizuno driver about 15 years ago, I've never had anything prove to me that the embarrassing number of clubs I've tried hits the ball farther in my hands. If I gain 1-2 yards, it's just not the significant investment for a new club. Sorry Mizuno sales department...

FWIW and by coincidence there was a titleist fitting/demo day this past week.
Took my Miz MP650, Titleist TSR3, and ParadymTD, and hit the new GT model from Titleist. Ultimately kept the TSR3, HZRDUS G5 6.0 60g.
gamed it yesterday ….all said…very pleased. Very nice club. Sets up nice and sq…though I roll it open slightly most shots. Sounds really solid off the tee…even mis-hits sound decent. Quite accurate with it….reminds me a lot of my 650 which is what I was hoping for. And…it is consistently longer than the Miz.

take care fellas!

I have the TSR2 3 wood with Hzrdus Smoke 6.0 70. I used it and my MP-650 5 wood for most of the season but yesterday I put the 650 3 wood back into the bag for fun. The TSR2 certainly launches the ball higher than the 650 but there's definitely something to the 650, especially when it comes to taking the left side of the fairway out of play. :)
