For those of you curious about current lead times... I'm awaiting a set of right-hand Pro 223's with Nippon 105 X-Stiff shafts (Std Length, 1.5* upright) from Mizuno USA. Here is the status to date from my fitter...
- 8/13/2022 - Order placed.
- 8/24/2022 - Order expected to ship the week of 9/12.
- While stock of 223 heads is low, more heads are due to arrive prior to the scheduled build date and will not affect production time. If a direct quote from the Mizo rep I'd say it's a bold prediction given the current state of the global supply chain.
- MCC Black/Grey STD grips are available.
- Nippon 105 X-Stiff shafts are available.
- 9/13/2022 - Order expected to ship the week of 10/3.
- The following heads are backordered until September 30th: 4, 5 6.
- 9/26/2022 - Update... the order is on its way and is due to arrive at the fitter tomorrow (9/27).
- I have no idea why Mizuno was able to finish the order early... should I complain? 😁 I don't know about you, but I think not.
- There is one source of delay that would irritate me to no end... if US customs, which over the last few years has been hard-at-work rewriting the the definition of inefficiency, was the culprit.
It's unfortunate Mizuno is suffering from both external and internal supply chain issues. I was somewhat optimistic the irons would ship this week. With that said, another part of me knew the order could easily be delayed. I was hoping to get the irons earlier than later so I could get in a round or two before winter. I'm long overdue for a switch back to more forgiving heads. Hopefully October is extra-nice this year!
Thus I continue to wait patiently for my order which is in its infancy compared to others.
If, by chance, a Mizuno USA employee is reading this, and if, by chance, said employee knows where a single Pro 223 4, 5, and 6 RH head may be hiding I wouldn't complain if they just happened to miraculously be assigned to my build. Miracles do happen!
In this case, though, I think it would take (miracle)³... that seems less likely.
