Having a discussion about some irons - MP18SC ordered standard lie but +1/2" Project x 6.0...turned up D3 really nice but will be probably in need of making them more upright....ordered the matching MP18 5 Fli-Hi and having issues with my order...came in at D6-7...part of the explanation maybe that as this was ordered +1 degree upright that affects swing weight!?...more than likely a standard head weight was used but interested to know what changing lie does for an iron?

Upright lie angles move the toe slightly closer to the hands and reduce swing weight, but the effect should be relatively small. A 1* lie angle change should only move the club's CG by a tiny amount (about 3/100ths of an inch by rough calculation). Your 1/2" increase in shaft length would have had a much bigger impact on swing weight than a lie angle adjustment.
