Hi I am a 8.5 and using jpx 900 forged looking for a new set but undecided between jpx 921 forged, MMC or HMB I actually used pw-7 ( jpx 900 forged) and a 6 iron hot metal and really like the hot metal regarding that when you miss still goes pretty straight if feels very easy to hit.

So maybe I am thinking 6 and 7 Hot metal or hot metal pro and deciding on pw to 8i to be honest I am making a comeback and planning to get my hc 1-3 strokes less but still looking for more help so my questions is between JPX21F, MMC and HMB with one is more forgiving?

Thanks

Hi,
I’m looking at a new combo set. I believe the 921 forged is the slightly more forgiving than the MMC and HMB.
I’d be interested to know what fits the 921F in terms of combo options, I dint know if the hot metals are too strong a loft?
Try them on grass is my thoughts, during a fit. ?

It depends on your definition of forgiveness: ball-face of sole-ground and swing/strike pattern, but I'd rank 921F over MMC for sure and HMB as more once you get to the longer irons. HMP (definitely most forgiving strike wise) from the mid irons up with 921F from the mid down is an easy combo to recommend. HMB long irons might also work if you need a narrower sole for ground contact.

As for combo & lofts: that's where the fit/gapping session comes in. There is no way to predict how your swing is going to make each model/loft fly. IF need be you can easily weaken HMP (or -B) a few degrees, or just use two 6 or 7 irons each fitted for proper length/weight.
