Hi Los,

The distance from my home to my golf club is 4.1 miles,

my first game will be on Friday morning tee off is at 9.07 am 2 ball,

My club for the first time is using a system of booking using an app on my mobile phone or PC you have to book a tee time 7 days in advance and you have to be a fully paid up member or be a non member annual season ticket holder to play, members of the club have priority booking for tee times,

Play will be in accordance with Scottish government rules and social distancing guide lines, club house practice areas and all other facilities are still closed,

John.

I am just across the border and if the distance rule was applied most of the members wouldn't be able to play. They are having to restrict how many times you can play each week to give everyone a chance to play.

I mentioned in another thread that a similar restriction was also in place in the ROI - The club my brother is a member of is quite remote & has less than 5% of members living within their governments 5km travel restriction area - He says it appears a lot of people are just ignoring the 5km rule & playing golf regardless of how far they have to travel to do so - It's hard to see how such a stupid rule could be policed in ROI or now in Scotland (?)

Just had a look and according to Google maps I'm 6 miles from the golf club.......

Going to be interesting on the A1 on a weekend morning as many Edinburgh golfers play down the coast at Gullane, N Berwick and Dunbar

Our four Municipal courses had over 450 bookings on the first day back .... not a bad start at all.
