I get to buy for the lad too. Traded out of his 2018 Tour cart bag and found him a mint condition shiny blue JPX 850 tour bag. I got myself a low bounce 56 degree S18 after he nicked my Blue Ion S5. Watching a few other bits on various platforms too. Closest I'm getting to the course is walking the pup on an eerily quiet local Public course.

I'm proud to report that I now have a set of beautiful MP20 irons (3-6 HMB, 7-9 blade) with a set of T20 wedges to go with. They're currently sitting in my room with me in a new pro cart bag as well.

Now I just need to get the ST200 fitted and buy that to complete the set...

A couple of very nice Mizuno Jacquard Polos from the nice folks at Snainton, all ready for the resumption of play. Their Ebay site rather than main inter web site is well worth a gander

I didn't buy but swapped the GT 180 3 wood head to an ST 180 head. The pro shop had gotten the ST 180 woods and a set of 900 Hot Metals earlier today and I took the 3 wood head out for a try.

The ST is so much better than the GT, I gained some 20+ meters with it, it feels much better and it also seems easier to launch plus it went more straight (of course half of those things might have something to do with the my swing today).

My short-lived love affair with the JPX 900 hybrids has come to an end. Maybe the next thing would be to replace my H5 3 iron with the HMB 3 iron for better gapping in the long end..

Have you still got your home made putter with the lead filled shaft?

Yes I do and it's still my go-to putter after a couple of seasons of use. I do take my normal C-01H out for a round every once in a while but I always return to the BC-2. I do like the extra weight to stabilize my stroke and the 37" length (I'm 6'3").

There wasn't any lead though. Just the threaded rod with some nuts on it. Lengthening the shaft by a couple of inches made the head feel heavy enough to not need any weight added there.

Have the very same, went from Powakaddy to Motacaddy (Dreadful) and back to Powakaddy! You'll have "nicer" calves than Phil Mickelson with 36 each weekend!!

Just as things would have it, I needed to buy some new golf shirts. I discovered a specific line of Puma shirts that stretch much more than the Under Armour shirts I've worn for a long time. I've bought a bunch of those Puma shirts.

I haven't played for the past month due to a bad cut on my right thumb that required stitches. Around the first of next week, I'll probably take a wedge and putter to the course and meet my usual Monday morning buddies. At least I'll be well dressed.

First post.

Bought an MP18 fli hi 3 iron. Have only recently got the MP18 blades, haven’t used them yet as I want to properly practice with them before they replace my current irons. I wanted something more forgiving for the longest iron and I might go down that route for the 4 iron as well. Chances are my Titleist 2 iron will remain.

Recently I had to say a final goodbye to an old - must be getting on for 15 years - Mizuno stand bag. Like an Aerolite but with a removable "saddle" holding most of the pockets, so you could remove all but the essentials if you wanted to carry really light. A clever 7-way angled divider system (Kabuki?) which doesn't seem to be available any longer. The bag has been taped, patched and repaired over the years, but finally has given up the ghost. I decided to replace it with a Big Max Dri Lite Eight, which I thought would be a good all-seasons bag - fairly waterproof, light weight, good capacity, decent price.

In use though, this bag has proved a huge disappointment. It's badly designed and badly made. The straps have about as much padding as an army mattress and the triangular junction piece digs in under the shoulder blades, so I replaced them very quickly with a very comfortable old Sun Mountain harness. After only a few weeks of post-lockdown use, the legs are already flopping down badly when the bag is being carried, something not helped (maybe caused) by the fact that anything heavy in the insulated drinks pocket, like, say, a bottle of water, pushes one of the legs downwards. Lots of other features just seem poorly thought-through after the Mizuno - try getting more than fingertips into some of the small pockets. The legs are not anodised or powder coated but painted, and apparently about as able to stand up to tough treatment as Gunner Beaumont (if you remember It Ain't Half Hot Mum) - the paint is already scraping off in places.

So not my best buy, and I'm now looking around for something to replace it. Ideas? I need something relatively lightweight these days, old age is catching up with me and I still prefer to carry for most rounds. But *ideally* I'd also like something with more than four dividers. I looked at Mizuno's BR-D4, a nice bag which is really at my upper weight limit, but it seems hard to find in stock anywhere right now.

Rob, I’ve got the Odyssey Pro Stand Bag for use in winter, it is very good and very light.

Thanks Brattz. Looking for the Odyssey Pro online, I came across the Odyssey Hyper-Lite 3, which I like the look of a lot. Only four dividers but otherwise a great spec.

Finally had to bin my Nexlite lightweight golf shoes,

Replaced them with a pair of Mizuno waterproof wave cadence spikeless golf shoes in Dark Chedder Size 10,
I’ve only worn them a couple of times but they have been very comfortable so far offering good support and are very lightweight to wear feel more like a trainer than a golf shoe
