Recently had my new ST190G swingweight checked as i felt it was a little too light in the head, turns out that with the Atmos black tour 6x shaft and Midsize grip it came out at D2.8, for reference a Callaway epic flash sub zero is D4.

Anyway decided to order 2 additional weights, fitted them this w/end in neutral setting and it has transformed the driver (7deg loft) massively, to the tune of 20+yds carry and increased stability.

One word of caution it does make it very head heavy but if you have the swing speed (mines 112mph av) it might be worth trying. Looking forward to getting on my coach’s GC Quad and seeing what it’s done to ball speed & spin

People I play with think I should be in asylum when I say things like this! - I have always tried to make sure my clubs are the right weight, length, loft, lie et al. that way you know if you hit bad shots it's you not the equipment (the Indian, not the arrow as the saying goes) - I had a similar situation with my TS2 driver - Swing weight was a bit heavier than I like it & when I asked my club fitter pal if he could get me a lighter weight for it, he pointed out that the shaft was longer than I usually play (45.5" instead of 45") - With the 1/2" trimmed off, the swing weight is bang on & I am hitting the TS2 better than ever ...

I have my JPX 900 5 Wood cut down by an inch. It feels noticably lighter than any of my other clubs. On the website it clearly states, that cutting down the shaft on woods will result in a loss of 3 points of swingweight per half inch. This seems like the perfect time to ask: Would anyone recommend I check if that is true or should I just go crazy on lead tape or is it possible to order additional weights through Mizuno? Last year I tried to convince myself it felt okay, but I really struggle with the light feel compared to the other clubs this year.

Cutting off 1" will certainly have a big affect on the feel - You should get the swingweight checked - Better to know how much extra weight to add rather than guessing? - I always found it easier to hit a club that was too heavy, rather than too light, probably due to my short, fast swing?
Hope that helps?

You are probably right Paul. I struggle with the feel of it because I don't feel it as much in my swing as the heavier Clubs. But guessing what to add is probably not gonna cut it as you said, I will get it measured and Report back!
I feel like every answer I have gotten on this Forum so far has been of tremendous help, and this one is certainly amongst them. Thank you!

Hi Chris

Where can I order some additional weights from. I play my ping G400 as D5 and would like to replicate that with my ST190G. Looked on eBay but nothing there.

Cheers
Glen

Hi Glen ... Sadly Mizuno UK (or Europe) do not sell weights (or adapters) - You will have to wait for someone to pop up here or on eBay with one for sale?
How much extra weight do you think you need to get the up to D5? - Will adding 1x more stock weight achieve this? - I might have a spare weight? - I'll have
a look & check what weight it is?

Hi Glen,
I asked my coach and he simply rang mizuno who sent them out, no charge. If you bought your 190 from a mizuno stockist they should be able to help.
