Well, after the driest March & April for many a year it's going to be a tough time out on the links. Both courses will be playing as they would in high summer as the ground is so dry and hard.  Some interesting bounces are bound to be had next week.

Long term weather doesn't look too bad for the weekend either, so, fingers crossed as we get neared the time that it stays that way.

The course I play is links and I can guarantee the bounces you get won't be in your favour! lol

Indeed guys.  The up-turned greens are hard enough to hold in winter but during this arid spell it's going to be fun fun fun!

There's a medal tomorrow so I'll let you guys know how the course plays.

Kilspindie have more bowl like greens so get you chip and run skills honed this weekend guys and girls.

Also, I guess Kevmc could update us on his round on Wednesday.  What did you shoot Kevmc and what's your new handicap?

yeah I can concur course was very challenging, I managed 31 points, with 2 lost balls in process, wind was helping on a few par 5s that made them a bit easier but I did hit driver, 4 iron 6 iron onto a 398 yard par 4  

greens are tough to hold, you need to be accurate from around green, but once on them they roll very well 

the winner will be the guy who hits the fairways and judges the wind 

should be a fun day for some and a damm frustrating day for the rest, I think the big winner will be the bar  

Kev, you played it in an Easterly breeze, not the normal wind direction. It should be back to normal by next weekend so it'll all be different

Excellent description Kevmc. It is a tough course but open and devoid of any blind holes (just about). Not too much out of bounds and the fairways will give you some huge drives. 

The bunkers are brutal though with the greenside ones on 7th and 12th resembling the big hole on Return of the Jedi. No Princes Leia waiting to applaud your sand save though! 

What is the dress code for the club house?
