Interesting idea.
We've some really talented players this year - Donald, Byrd, Overton, ****, Vancsik. But with so many manufacturers now on tour, there's more chance of a tournament where you won't see a Mizuno bag. Just a sign of the times and not exclusive to Mizuno.
Hopefully we'll be able to strengthen the team a little over the winter.
With respect Joshella - Other OEM's seem to be doing very well with sponsorship players. Callaway, Nike, Taylor Made have the lions share!! And it's a bad day when Cleveland are able to steal Soren Kjeldson from Mizuno, and an even worse one when Yonex - who have absolutely no golfing pedigree whatsoever - were able to land Monty for such a long time (during a portion of his prime).
It's something I've been banging on about for years now - Mizuno equipment is the very best, and the very best players should therefore be playing Mizuno gear. The whole Mizuno approach to sponsorship is flawed - in my opinion - They obviously don't need the money, Mizuno are a massive company, however I reckon a couple of BIG names in the stable would boost sales through the roof!!!
Then again, golf is only a very small part of a very large company!
