77 playing off 21. Stableford comp and I scored 51 points, 28 points on the back 9, including a 2 for 5.

I genuinely couldn't understand why I was not a very popular winner at the time :-)

I do remember being 12 years old, but I don't remember actually having a handicap. When I played in junior tournaments between members of various country clubs back then, we only played gross score individually and team total. I don't think there were handicaps for children.
I've had a good day if I didn't fall out of the cart...

As a youngster I played most of my golf over the local ' muni ' Silverknowes Golf Course in Edinburgh. I wasn't a member so was playing of an unofficial handicap at the time of 15. Still remember highlights of that round and parring the monsterous 18th for a 79. par was 71, so it was a day to remember.

Not sure what my handicap will be when I break 80... Best I've done is 82 and that was off the medal tees at my course.

76 this evening, albeit on a par 67 course but still chuffed.

Rumours are that the bookies have you as early favourite for the 2017 5th Major!  :o
