I'm ashamed to admit my new driver rhymes with "Ding" but I tried half a dozen different models and shafts and this was by far the best for my wonky swing.

I wanted a blue monster but it just didn't fit with me...  It's sometime hard to go with your head than heart but those that have played with me will know very well that off the tee is my major problem.  The new driver is working well for me but so is a better takeaway.

Facing up to your issues is the first step mate, I think there are self help groups to help you deal the heart/head problems :)

Glad you had a good weekend by the way, relax for a week or so then they the next one planned (just not for the weekend of the 13th!!!)

Forgive me for I have sinned yet again. :(

My new driver doesn't rhyme with Ding though. :D

It's a black Cobra Bio Cell with a Matrix Ozik Red Tie 6Q3, x-stiff shaft that's an inch or an inch and a half shorter than the stock shaft on the 650. I traded my Titleist 712u 2 iron and my used MP-T4 52* for it.

As much as I love the MP-650 and as well as it has been performing, the shaft just wasn't up to my current swing, I was hitting it very high and with too much spin. I took the Cobra for a round on Sunday and while there were some bad shots, there were shots I knew I'd never get the 650 as far and straight as the excess spin would wreak havoc in the wind. The Bio Cell gave me a lower trajectory and a more penetrating flight - the ball just kept on going forward.

There is still a slight worry in the back of my head the x-stiff shaft will be too much for me but only time will tell. It also feels stupid to bench a driver I'm hitting so well at the moment. :D

Bought my self one of the Odyssey OWorks R-Line putters that's fitted with their new Micro Hinge face insert,

This is the my first time using a Balanced faced mallet type headed putter, having only ever used traditional Anser type style tow down putters in the past,

Played my first game with it yesterday and have to admit I was more than happy with how I putted with it, the feeling and feed back from off the putter face was really nice even my playing partners were saying that's the best they have seen me putting in a long time,

John

Very, very nice. Looked at one of these recently and if I was playing regularly I would have given it some serious thought. Nice balance to it, good weight and very pleasing to the eye.

Get some practice in John and you'll see your handicap start to drop.
