Ditto.

I could never get on with hybrids either but the H4 3iron looks and feels much more comfortable.

I was a happy MP-H4 3 iron user too until I got my JPX900's - The 4 iron now plays as the H4 3 iron did - I didn't like the gap from 4 iron to 5 wood, so I got my Mizuno man to make me up a hybrid to fill the gap - We went for an MP650 19* with a heavy UST AxivCore hybrid shaft in it - Early signs are very good (the 650 hybrid were very highly rated in their day) & distance wise I am right where I want to be - Like most, I have had a "love/hate" relationship with hybrids, but the ones that worked best were heavier shafts like the AxivCore or even steel shaft to match my irons - The main issue now is that as I carry GW SW LW I have to chose between leaving out a wedge or a fairway wood to make room for the hybrid ...

So far so good with the hybrid. I got another round in today and I left both of my fairway woods home to ensure plenty of opportunities for the hybrid. It is a fun club to hit, you can really swing way right and know the draw bias will bring the ball back. I guess the feeling is similar to what Jeremy Clarkson would say about some over steering cars "you can really let the ar*e hang out".

Having a club that's good for 240ish off the tee and 230 off the deck on a good swing with the right side out of play is a nice commodity but for that I need to sacrifice something else.

Just got the JPX900 Driver for my birthday. Still not sure about the settings and may have to consider 2 options depending on the wind. Testing inside my best option was 10.5* and the weights in 1 & 4, pretty standard, however outside in the wind I was getting best distance, carry and roll, using 9.5* and weights in 2 & 3 and only slightly worse using 10.5* and weights in 1 & 3. For the time being i have left it 10.5* and weights in 1 & 3 until I get some time on the course in varying conditions.
One thing I did notice is that the head feels noticeably heavier when swinging compared to my 913D2 and does perform better when I use a smoother swing.

Did you not change the hex weight in the 913? I have changed the weight in my 915D3 from the standard 7g to an 11g and it makes a massive difference feel wise. Head feels heavier but more balanced.

I was actually fitted for the 9gm weight and haven't changed it. I won't be getting rid of the driver  as I will be using it in another set.

During a fitting, I found my best settings with the weights in the 1 and 4 positions, so relatively neutral. I tried that for awhile, but was messing around on the course and tried the weights spread wide - one at fade and one at draw - and had some great shots. I was hitting the ball so well I've been afraid to move the weights since then. I can't find much documentation on the weights spread wide like that, but with the weight placement so wide and close to the face, it stands to reason that it should be relatively forgiving (high MOI with perimeter weights) but low spin (weights forward). I have not had a trackman on it, so this easily could be a placebo.

As for loft, I temporarily have mine cranked up to 11.5* because I'm playing at extremely high altitude (almost 7000 ft) and with very soft fairways. The altitude means spin doesn't create much lift, so you need a little higher launch to keep the ball airborne, and with the soft fairways you can't count on any roll (often literally... I even have some drives recoil slightly backwards after leaving a giant ball mark in the fairway). When the afternoon thunderstorms stop coming and the fairways firm up, I'll try cranking it down to 10.5 or maybe even 9.5 and do some more testing. For now, I'm sticking with whats working though - 11.5* and weights out wide.
