Love the photo Halebopp. I'm sort of an avid photographer and used to have a darkroom in my garage. I took a course from the New York Institute of Photography many years ago, but there wasn't much about landscape photography in it.

Since then, I always wished I could find some instructional books about golf course photography. I gave up trying.

Anyway... I played 9 holes this morning, the front side at Killian Greens. It wasn't great, but after having the lies on my JPX-900 Hot Metal irons adjusted more upright last Saturday, a lot about my iron game fell nicely into place. I only took 6 holes to loosen up enough and managed pars on the last 3 holes.

For once, instead of leaving the course frustrated and glad it was over, I left today wishing I'd had time to play the back nine.
I've had a good day if I didn't fall out of the cart...

First game in the rollup at Guildford for several weeks - Playing off 3hcp / yellow tees (mainly seniors playing) - Steady start for 7 holes & then birdies on 8th (Par 5) & 9th - 19pts at turn - Pars on 10 & 11 but then hit a wedge stone dead for birdie on 12th - Pars all the way to 17th but then bit of a stumble there & on the 18th where I only scored 1pt on each (first 3 putt of the day on 18th) - 18pts on the back 9 - With over 30 playing I assumed 37pts wouldn't be in the frame, but it was the best score, so quite a boost to the wallet & a 2 shot cut to my rollup handicap!

Little jaunt today with a few pals on to Horsley Lodge.  Warmed up nicely for my MASSIVE sunday and monday...... Just a gross 73(+2) for a nett 67 (-4).

If I play like that on Sunday on the Brabazon and win a 2018 VIP Ryder Cup package I will be a happy little boy! Even better if it continues into Monday at Maxstoke Park and I scoop a week in Portugal all expenses paid!

Hopefully you’ll have a proper handicap for the Forum day mate :)

Play well in the comps ;)

Have had a slow work week so have played Tues/Wed/Thurs afternoon and am playing again this aft.

Been quite consistent in scoring, 34/31/33 respectively which considering it has been quite windy and I've played 3 different courses Im happy with.

Well..... after knocking it round the Brabazon of the white pots in 78 (nett 72 /LVL) I thought I might have a sniff..... how wrong could I be when someone walks in with a nett 66... absolute banditry!

Oh well, played fantastic tee to green. Nailed it onto the 10th with 3wd (just 261yd to the green) and was pin high in 2 on 18. That makes Brattz a happy boy heading to the International pairs final at Maxstoke Park tomorrow. Fingers crossed

I guess many of you will have previously seen this article.  Why I personally gave up a couple of years ago with comps with prizes like trips abroad.  Too many people consistently scoring way beyond what their handicap would suggest, in my opinion anyway.

Played Hargrove Trophy today.Interclub KO played off scratch.Already 2-1 up from last weeks 1st leg at Oswestry.Myself off 8 and my partner off 10 up against the same pairing that gave him and his partner a 7 hole drubbing last week. Two young lads playing off 2 and 1 respectivly. We went 1 down at the first which wasn't a good start but managed to get to 1 up by the turn.Lost next 2 holes to go 1 down  for the first time since the 1st hole.2 good tee shots led to 2 deserved halves on 12 and then we won the next 4 holes to win the match on 16th.Format is you have to complete 18 holes and we halved the last 2 for a great 3 up victory.Team won 2-1 again and 2 holes up for a resounding 4-2 ,9 holes up agg .

Monthly medal on Saturday. Played reasonably nicely on the front nine after a nightmare on 1, but lost my composure on the back 9 and ended up with a poor score.

Really struggling to take my lesson / range form onto the course. Whilst I appreciate the vagaries of a real lie and no bouncy rubber under the ball do make a difference, I'm hitting bad shots that I never do on the range on the course...
