Played in the rollup at New Forest today (Saturday) - My golf recently has usually consisted of an awful front 9 where I use up all my shots & then a back 9 where I suddenly remember I am supposed to play off 5 & play to that or sometimes better
Anyhoo ... Today I got off to a great start, missed a birdie putt on 1st from 6 feet but rolled in one from 10 feet on 2nd for birdie - Two more birdies on 6th & 9th holes (pars on the other holes) saw me reach the turn 3 under par / 22pts (rollup handicap is 2) - Back 9 started well, though I missed another birdie on 10th from 10 feet - Then the inevitable stumble occurred - My tee shot on 13th found the greenside bunker & rolled right up against the edge - I did well to get it out, but failed to get up & down (double bogey / 0 points) - Pars on 14th 15th & 16th - Birdie on Par 5 17th & after worst drive of the day on 18th I hit the best iron of the day (6 iron) to 2 feet & rolled the putt in for birdie - 41pts / 3 under par!
Tied 1st / lost on countback

After 6 rounds in france last week of 81,78,79,77,76,77 I shot a 76 today for a nett 70 (-1). awesome that the ball striking and form has continued even with me hardly picking a club up since getting back for 7 days.

CSS was 73 but comp was a NQ!!!! Bandit status maintained ;)

Played yesterday with the thought of being a 3 handicap after the comp in my head shotgun start so we was off the 12th tee. A lot of good solid golf put me -2 gross standing on the first tee then the bogey train arrived at the station seeing me finish +3 for 37 points css Was 68 (38 points) so still off 3.5 for the big one up in Leeds tomorrow and Tuesday the road to Portugal only 17 in it now and top 2 go to Vale Do Lobo

Played in our Professionals Tri-Am at the golf club with Christing and Liz this afternoon. Heavy going underfoot made for a tough time with no run on the ball at all. We had a good laugh as we played round the course, but, somehow, at least one of us managed to post a reasonable score at most of the holes. We ended up on 43 points, but, it was another milestone for me. First time off the Medal tees since my accident. I've learned that parkland golf is a hard gig when you can't dig the ball out the wet rough the way I used to be able to and you can't get any run on your longer shots. I still enjoyed it, but, definately able to play better on a links course rather than a soft parkland. Thanks to Christine and Liz for putting up with me

Played a round of golf with my son in law Greg Miller to day round Bonnyton Golf Club
Eaglesham, the going was very soft under foot with some surface water
on a few of the fairways although the greens were in really nice
condition considering the amount of heavy rain we have had over the
last few days,
we managed to get round in the dry till teeing off at the last hole when we had a little
light drizzly rain but it wasn't anything to bad,

We both played reasonably well considering the course conditions Greg finishing up
the winner with 41 points and myself finishing with 36 points,

Cheers
