First round with the new driver. A rush to the tee meant no warm up. I think that led to me having a bad swing day with quite a few lefts with all clubs. Still got round in 79 which is a big improvement on last year. When I caught the ST180 properly it was very very good :)

Nice round today at Stoke Rochford with the Forum’s own Brattz.

Course was a little soggy but held up very well and there are some lovely holes around the river.

Just managed to sneak a victory with Nige a bit off his game. So hope for the rest at the Forum days, he is beatable!

After having the same experience last month, maybe it's you "putting us off our game"? - Think the secret for the Forum day's is not to get drawn to play with Bonbobananas

Played in the roll-up at New Forest today (Saturday) - After winning last week I was off 3hcp today - It was cold (1* before wind-chill  ) and 10 of us braved the mini beast from the east! - There were a further 10 playing in another roll-up ahead of us - After 3 holes we were hit by a blizzard! - A new experience for me, but the snow did not settle & we soldiered on & the blizzard blew through after 2 holes - The 3ball behind us & all 10 of the roll-up ahead of us walked in when the blizzard hit, but after that the weather was fine & we completed our round no problem - I was happy with my game & shot 38pts including two birdies on the two short par 4's on the back 9 where I drove pin high on both - I left before the final 4ball came in, so no idea how my 38pts faired?

Bit of a quiet week for me with my first game on Wednesday, but I had a bit of a twinge in my back, so although I finished the round, I wasn't really swinging as normal - I had a couple of gentle sessions on the range until Saturday, when I played in the rollup at New Forest - The round the previous Saturday resulted in me winning again & getting a further cut to 1hcp
The course was very wet (again) & on some fairways you just had to play from wet lies as there wasn't anywhere else!
My play was scrappy at best & the only highlights were the par 5 9th which I almost eagled & one of the two short par 4's on the back nine, which I drove & two putted for birdie - I finished with 32pts well behind the 39pts of the winner - On the brightside, handicaps in the rollup are reset to club handicap on 1st April so I will only have one more week to play of one & will go back up to five

Played a nine hole practice round today. I did not dress properly and was freezing.  Playing 18 tomorrow with the group I play most Sundays with. We'll should have three foursomes with skins and closest to the flag on the par threes. In anticipation of narrow landing areas on tomorrows course, I have decided to leave my driver at home. I know I'll have more control with my 3 wood.

81pts in the 4 man team at Breadsall Priory today. Only 17 holes due to a waterlogged 18th but well happy to shoot level par nett with my own ball. Was in 4th place with 75% of the field in.....

Too wet for the course, so, first range session of the year today. The body didn't want to do what it was told today.  It might have been the damp, it might have been the cold, but, I definitely think I'm turning into a warm weather golfer.

Good to hit a few balls though. The new 7 wood looks as if it will be a handy addition to the bag.

Roll on summer ;)
