Re: The Memorial @ Muirfield Village, Dublin, Ohio (spoilers
Enjoying the Memorial thus far; always enjoy "Jack's event". I would love to see JByrd pull out an "upset" but he has a tough group in front of him.
With regards to the cameras on the course... and that's what it is, IMO. I have heard some of the supporters speak of "important" types being able to stay in touch with the office while being away for a day; I call bull. I also call bull on expecting the marshals to "police" this type of distraction. Please. The PGA, and the R&A respectively, needs to either; endorse it fully, or discourage it fully. Don't expect a group of volunteers to police 30-40K teenagers, and teenager wannabe's with cell phone cameras. Pandora's box will be open.
Obviously Phil withdrawing was a statement of disapproval. I suppose he could've stuck in there and played...and thrown his clubs down while barking at the fans :no names mentioned: I don't blame for how he made his statement. The guy has been around, he is an icon, and has been a great ambassador for the game and business of golf. Surely there are other ways to exercise ones discord, but he did, I suppose, what he thought would gain the most exposure without being totally classless.
:sigh: Rant over... sorry for attempted hi-jack of thread.
Cheers on this Sunday and go Team Mizuno!
