Southern Forum day in 2012 @ The Oxfordshire

Is anyone interested in a Southern Forum day at the Oxfordshire golf course in 2012. This is arranged independently of Mizuno so will hopefully be a warm up to the day at Bearwood Lakes (hint hint Mizuno .

I have emailed the Oxfordshire for the prices so will post them when I have them.

Please add your name to this post if you are interested so I can get an idea of numbers.

Could possibly be on a Friday though it depends on what the club is offering.

I am still waiting to hear back from the Oxfordshire about their 2012 days.

I have now got the prices and details of what the Oxfordshire is offering and they offer 3 packages:
Langer £84
Clarke £104
Montgomerie £124

The link is for Corporate days but the packages are the same.

I have enquired at another local golf course (Frilford Heath http://www.frilfordheath.co.uk/) which has hosted a round of the Volvo Amateur Tour and will be hosting the European Tour Q school in October and their price would be £45 for:

Winter warmer package - Unlimited golf, coffee on arrival and a brunch which you can have at any time during the day.

Please let me know what your thoughts are and which venue would be preferred.

Whereas the Oxfordshire would be nice - I reckon those prices would scare too many away (including me)

An "under £50 option" would be more inclusive and you'd get a much bigger uptake. Preferably on a weekend for me too...

The oxfordshire prices do scare me too which is why I contacted Frilford as I thought it would be a suitable alternative and priced reasonably at £45 for unlimited golf on 3 courses.

Would'nt it be possbile to hold the event again at Bearwood Lakes. That venue would be closer to the motorway/airport, and to Mizuno's UK headquarter? Or, at the site of their National Fitting Center?

I think people are secretly hoping that Mizuno will organise an official event again - the last one was such a success (for us at least)

If it were down to me I'd have the golf press there and a couple of pros and make a bigger deal of it. Generate some business etc.

I think this thread is dedicated to an independent day organised by the forumites (well Wotsit )

I was organising one hoping that Mizuno would do another day at Bearwood as it was a great day.

I have got full details from Frilford Heath so will put up another post as I think the Oxfordshire is just too expensive and the lack of replies clearly shows this.

Originally thought the Oxford 'area' would be a central point for anyone in the south (or north) to get to if they wanted to.

I have played burhill with work a few times and it has the benefit of two completely contrasting courses.... that may make it a long day for those who travel from afar ( may have to stay over !!. I thought that Bearwood was a good day out and prob better for playing one round access wise....
