Hi MPX,

Looking for some help regarding an ST180 HL 10.5 deg -14.5 Deg loft driver head that I've recently purchased,

It bought it as a head only so it didn't come with its original shaft and adaptor to be able to adjust it through its range from 10.5 deg -14.5 Deg,

I do have a spare Mizuno driver shaft that I could use on it but it's fitted with the normal adaptor that only ranges from 7.5 deg -11.5 Deg,

My question is will I be able to get the full range of head loft adjust-ability using this shaft and std adaptor or will I need to have the correct
adaptor for the HL head fitted to the shaft in order to get the full loft range from 10.5 deg - 14.5 deg,

Would appreciate any help that you could give me with this,

Cheers

John

Hi John ... I may be talking bollards here but as I see it it is the head that gives you the range of loft from 10.5 - 14.5 - Using your shaft where the adapter starts at 7.5 that setting would be the equivalent of 10.5 loft in your new head, moving up incrementally until you get to the highest setting of 11.5 which will be 14.5 loft in your new head
Like I say I'm no expert but as a "serial shaft changer" I have had similar scenarios before ...

Hi Paul,

I think you are correct as I was thinking the same thing that if you started with the shaft set at 7.5 deg in the head it will be set at it's starting loft of 10.5 deg and as you incrementally move the shaft round it's settings you will change the drivers loft by 1 deg each step to it's maximum setting of 14.5 deg...

Fortunately I have two drivers at the moment the ST180 HL and the GT180 so I set up both shafts in their lowest setting of 7.5 deg and there looked to be a noticeable difference in loft between them, although I have no way of checking this I'm thinking that both drivers probably use the same shaft adaptor but with different degree markings on them one starting at 7.5 deg and the other starting at 10.5 deg...?

so it looks like we could be correct in our thinking,

Thank you for replying Paul,

Cheers

John
