Hi all - hope the new system works out for you all. It's been a little overdue.

Due to technical issues in the migration process, we have had to remove some user accounts. Users who have actually posted onto the forum have been migrated across. Users who haven'y yet actively participated will have been removed. Should result in a smoother experience now for everyone. Looking forward to starting again and seeing where this goes.

Any feedback - fire away.

Why did you choose this software (XenForo)?

We are building a forums site for a new product at work. We've [almost] settled on phpBB, which the old site used.

This software looks a lot more modern. You've put a major spanner in the works now o_O

So what's the reason for XenForo?

Looks great from a user point of view.

I'd like to be able to manually stretch the text box in which we write (drag it wider/longer from the bottom right corner).

Also, can we use more pixels on our avatars now? :)

Although unless I’m being stupid looks like you can’t edit posts. Or use standard phone emojis. That would be a good addition

I edited my first post -so that's definitely possible, On the platform, took advice from someone who knows a lot more than us. But happy with how it looks (especially mobile) so far. Keep dropping your comments / thoughts and the tech team will read through next week.

Aha, the edit and delete buttons only come up when my phone is on its side in landscape. That’s why I couldn’t edit.

Looking good. First impressions are good. Layout looks great, just seems so much clearer/brighter.

One problem is that having prevented me from logging in under my original nom de plume, I’m now reduced to an ordinary “member” rather than being “well known”. Poor show.

Does anyone else think the "banner" at the top is way too big, especially when you're viewing the very top of a page?

I think the banner we see once we scroll down is the absolute maximum that should be visible at any time, even those links could be all put on a single row. I very much dislike the actual content being pushed to the lower 50% of the screen.

Looks good so far, will test images and everything shortly but just mobile friendly makes a huge difference. Should hopefully improve engagement

I agree about the size of the top banner - it's takes up too much room when it doesn't need to. I like the fact the banner collapses when you page down though.

I think more branding would be better or a background image or images to make the pages look less empty, but maybe lean and mean is the design?

Is there no longer a 'next thread' button, or am I missing something? Seems long winded to have to go back to the menu each time...
