i am a 11 hc and playing with mx 20 dynalite gold R300 shafts. My distance is good and a ball flight quite high but strong. Struggle a little with the 3 and 4 iron although can get 190 yds from the 5 iron.

Thinking about upgrading but can't decide mx 200 or mp57.

Would appreciate some advice.

Get yourself the 57's, but start the set at 5 iron. Replace the 3 iron with a 20 degree Fli Hi Clk and the 4 iron with a 23 degree Fli Hi Clk!

I promise you wont struggle with the 200 - 220 yard shots again!

Cant say a lot about the MX's but recently got the MP57' and would strongly recomend them. You get a great ball flight from them. They dont look it but they are also really forgiving. They have definately helped to improve my game

I got mine about 2 months ago and only paid 350 quid 3-PW, so you might get them cheaper now.

I agree with these guys - it's got to be the MP 57's! Much nicer feel of the face than the MX range, even though the MX200's are also forged. I recently hit an MX200 on a demo day and was very pleased with my MP purchase, they feel alot softer and I lost no distance.

I have a similar handicap to you and have the MP57's from PW up to 4 iron, and like Deemac I have replaced the 3-iron with a hybrid club.

One thing worth trying though - I cannot rate the new MX700 hybrid highly enough and I have replaced my 3 iron with a 20 degree model, it is so easy to hit you won't believe the loft on it!

I recently bought the MX200 after playing MP60's for number of years. The MX200 are effortless to hit from Long to short irons with very soft feel. I got the Project x 5.5 shafts. These irons are very forgiving but still allow you shape your shots if required. Worth a try. They do look a small bit chunky on the top line compared to MP60's but not to bad.

It's funny - I had MP60's before the MP57's, and although the difference is supposed to be minimal, I find them so much easier to hit.

At the end of the day, you need to hit both and work out what suits you best. For me, the appearance of the club it really important too, and I know it shouldn't matter but the MP57's are so much prettier!
