Hi,
I have been using my Mizuno JPX EZ for over a year now. Love them. But as you may know, no sand wedge with this set.
I recently purchased a Mizuno Sand Wedge Mx-300. (Used), Grain flow forged. I have been trying to get the specifications on this iron but nowhere does it seem to exist.
As like many golfers at my level, I use this iron for a lot of pitching and chipping. Would like to know the bounce angle. I presume the loft is 56 degrees.
Thanks in advance of any responses.

Best I could find was this MX300 shaft spec chart:

Club Loft Length Lie Bounce Offset
---- ---- ------ --- ------ ------
3I 20° 38.75" 59.5° 1° 0.171
4I 23° 38.25" 60.0° 2° 0.161
5I 26° 37.75" 60.5° 2° 0.152
6I 29° 37.25" 61.0° 2° 0.142
7I 33° 36.75" 61.5° 3° 0.132
8I 37° 36.25" 62.0° 4° 0.122
9I 41° 35.75" 62.5° 5° 0.112
PW 45° 35.50" 63.0° 6° 0.102
GW 50° 35.25" 63.0° 7° 0.093

Based on that I'd suggest that the SW is probably 54* with low bounce but that is just an educated guess?
You could take the club to a professional club fitter who would be able to measure the loft etc of your actual club?
Good luck ... Paul

Do you have a picture of the sole and back?
When I bought my MX300's I was only offered a gap wedge, which I didn't get, and no sand wedge. If it was an MX series wedge you got the loft would be 55* with 12* of bounce.

Edit:- Just noticed you are in OZ and the club possibly came from an Asian source.
The Korean irons Timeline list the SW as having 12* bounce 55* loft.

Thanks for the prompt reply Paul.
I’m a little concerned (not too much), that the sand wedge I have is not from the Mizuno factory. But anyway, I am a happy user and will carry on at your suggestion that 54 degrees with low bounce angle.
In my practice drills I have been flirting with a few degrees of open face using S wedge for chipping and also for pitching from about 30M. So I was curious as to what the loft is compared to my P and G wedges.
Thanks for the info chart.

So, Mizuno Korea is making the sand wedge, maybe. Makes me feel a little better that it is conforming to some specification. Thanks LOS

I know people's opinions of wedges can get very personal, but for my own sake, I think the old R series chrome wedges were some of the best Mizuno ever made.

Still use on for a wee practise now and again. They really were great wedges, ideal shape IMO and easy to use . Wore out 2 sand wedges over a few years.
