Not seen these listed on here apologies if they have been, but excellent Vlogs with Chris and Luke playing a few holes with Rick Shiels and Peter Finch from Youtube.

Shows what great guys they are.

Watching the first video, I noticed something odd, so I'm curious... When Chris Wood steps onto the tee, he takes a practice swing cross handed. Then he grips the club normally and hits his shot.

Is this some sort of stretching routine? Anyone know why he does this?

Chris does suffer with his back so it may be for that reason

I reckon it'll be a drill to get the sensation of the left arm being kept straight across the body while the right arm tucks in tight ... but that's just a guess.

I may try it to see whether it does anything to stretch me better. I joke, only half jokingly, that loosening up is the biggest problem with my game.

We shot a Mizuno Masterclass with them just after the Shiels / Finch match.  The 'crosshanded' drill was a conversation piece within it.

When I was a youngster and Pete Cowen was the pro at my club at the time (Lindrick) he used to teach us to do a practice swing with the toe pointing at the ground, that makes the club feel heavier so you can feel the path of the club better.

I understand  that crosshands help with starting the swing with the shoulders and not arms first.

Woody says its to stop him getting too 'deep' on the backswing.

I tried it when I get home.  Made my backswing look much prettier......but that was about it.
