Having bought and fallen in love with my 919 forged set from 4-GW , i'm looking to complete my iron set up and part ex my existing SM6s for a Mizuno offering and wondered what others have done. I notice that there are now 55 and 60 degree specialist wedges available in a 919 offering but they're only in the Hot Metal variety. Would a fairly able 11 handicapper like myself benefit by keeping the whole set to the 919 range or would the feel be hugely different in going from 919 forged in the iron set up to 919 Hot Metal in the 55 and 60 degree wedge set up ??? Am I reading too much into this ??

Afternoon, I've just sold my Titleist SM6 wedges but I'm going for the new Mizzy S18 wedges, personally I would think that's the best way to go.

If you are a decent ball striker that would be my recommendation. I prefer the look of these over the T7 teardrop style.
All the best

Another one here, sold the near new 4 x SM7s, go for 2 x blue S18 (55/13 and 60/6)

I personally would recommend you go see a proper Mizuno fitter or at least visit a shop who know their stuff, before you make any impulsive decision.

I have fitted myself (by a Mizuno fitter using the swing DNA) 919 Hot Metal. I am okay with using the PW and GW with 919. But the SW/LW just doesn't fit my eye to feel comfortable/confidence.... because I have been using specialized wedge for anything over 51* since forever.

To each of their own I guess.

Thank you gents , i'm inclined to explore the specialised wedges rather than just extend the existing set. The blue s18s looked great but do they actually stay blue ???

There's a thread just below yours on the Blue wedge question ...
